The Foxhunter’s Chase is the hunter chase highlight of the annual Grand National meeting. The Grade 2 race takes place on the opening day of the meeting, and is run over a distance of 2 miles 5 furlongs and 110 yards.
Entry to the Foxhunters Chase is open to hunter chase racehorses over the age of 6, while only amateur jockeys are permitted to compete in the race. The event is regarded as the sequel to the Foxhunter Chase Challenge Cup run at the Cheltenham Festival.
